My friends know that I lean more on the cynical and less on the romantic. The closest my husband and I have had to celebrating Valentine’s Day is sitting down to a movie at the same time in the living room that may or may not involve a glass of wine. However, when it comes to the kids, I can’t wait to work on the Valentine cards! You might even say it’s my jam, my closeted secret. I spend a couple of weeks trying to think up catchy phrases and how I can insert my kids faces into a card that will make you smile. I must admit, each year it’s getting harder and harder to try to be original. So this year, I’m sharing with you Valentines past.
Still one of my favorites, probably because it’s my first. This one stole my heart early on. Pre-school and he was so excited to participate so it made it enjoyable.
Kindergarten…I found something similar on Pinterest for inspiration and was in LOVE. This year was a “bestie project” so it was even sweeter.
First Grade! Tai Kwon Do was big this year. This shot was a bit more difficult trying to stay out of harm’s way while getting that perfect picture.
Second Grade and I have to admit, this one is my all time favorite. It makes me laugh every time. That face! It pretty much sums up this kids outlook on life.
I did a group one also this year. I didn’t have the patience to do a toddler card yet so I made a collection of a few photos from a snow day.
I had so much fun, I did two this year. I just couldn’t decide. I love the polaroid but I think it was lost on a class of third graders. So that one was just for me.
You can’t go wrong with Star Wars on ANY year.
This one debuted in Preschool! What do I have to do to get that pink typewriter?!
Another group from the fam for last year.
I’ve had so much fun over the years making these and I’m not looking forward to the day when my son has outgrown them. (I think it’s quickly approaching). I just finished this years cards but you’ll just have to wait a few days for those. I know, you can hardly contain yourself, right?
Oh yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day folks!
