Dorm Room Essentials

scott-webb-270034-unsplashIt’s that time of year again! Our little ones who seemed to have turned into adults over night are running off to begin lives of their own. Many will begin their journey in a dorm room. As good parents, we want them to have everything they need and be in an environment that they can learn and still have small comforts of home. Let’s face it, college is not cheap so getting them settled shouldn’t cost a fortune too. So let’s take a look at three designs that would get any college student excited about style and parents excited about saving!

Design 1

Dorm Room 1

A little glam, a little sensible. We all know there just is never enough space in a dorm room. Keeping the furnishings light and adding storage that is multi-functional is pure gold. The drawer unit offers some great storage while allowing some surface space as well. It could double as a bedside table, desk or even dining! The wheels are definitely a bonus! The gray and white with a little blush is on every girl’s list. The faux sheepskin keeps the toes warm when crawling out of bed. Add twinkling lights and the room is a dream!

Fresh and bright. Who wouldn’t want to study here?! The small desk and chair are a great fit in a small space. The IKEA rolling cart adds some color and is super multi-functional. This cart can be used literally anywhere! The ocean tapestry and banana leaf comforter are calming and inspiring for a great retreat from the chaos of college life. Don’t forget a Mini Instant camera to capture memories to send home to Mom and Dad.

Boho/Scandi living. Neutrals help expand a space and calm the spirit. This desk is foldable to save space when not in use. Friends coming over, no problem! The black mini fridge should be on everyone’s list of essentials and this one is so stylish you’ll want to place it front and center.
